At the foot of a mountain

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Pabbar Valley Himachal Pradesh

The cold winds would feel uncomfortable,

But not like the choking smoke of the cities.

The fresh air would make you shiver,

But not like the hate that would bruise your heart.

A place far away in the wilderness,

Where the nature feels so pure,

Where everything rides on their soul,

Where the cool breeze sings the song of love.

A place at the foot of a mountain,

Or inside a dense green forest.

Any place far away from chaos,

A true home where you find your purpose.

Time of our lives

Do you need time?

Goa Sunrise

We associate everything in our lives with time. Our brains are wired to differentiate the events in our lives because of time, or is it really?

Something which has already happened belongs to the past, something which is happening now belongs to the present, and our dreams or desires may reside in the future. Past, present and future are the landmarks or milestones of time or we can say time may not exist without them.

We are quite fortunate to have an understanding of time. But it has also dominated us , created doubts in our mind for the future, brought tears because of our past, and hardly made us live in the present when the past and future dominated us.

Imagine, there is no past and future and so there is no time. Everything and every event exists in the ‘Now’ or present, there would be no worries, no regrets, no grief and no restlessness. But at the same time there will be no memories, no desires, no tears , no life and even death. What would be the meaning of our existence? Just a vague presence in the cosmos.

And so past and future, life and death, the circle of time brings meaning in our lives . Without it nothing makes sense or rather there will be no reason to live or exist.

Dreams of Now

What will your life be like in three years?

Somewhere in Manali

It is not quite possible for me to foresee,

The dreams or the reality that may come,

The desires I pursue never flow above,

To the surface of reality that finally comes.

So my heart never craves the light of future,

As the light only shines on the purity of ‘Now’.

Let the heart be free and the mind be clearer,

Breaking the shackles of time by rising now.

Writing is meditation

Sonmarg

What do you enjoy most about writing?

Writing is something which gives you strength if you are feeling weak. It makes you feel better as if the words on the paper want to share your tears. It is nothing but it is everything.

Writing is something which pours emotions of the heart or the light of the mind on the paper.

It becomes your perfect teacher when you just want to focus and try to give your best on the paper. In this way you forget about all the worries of life, a perfect meditation.

Writing becomes even more powerful when it finds its reader. The impact that writers can have on their readers can truly change the world we live in. And so writers should always choose his words wisely.

For me, writing is meditation just like reading. It makes me forget about a bad day in the office , also it makes me truly present in the ‘Now’. And yes to become a good writer you should read more.

Your Reactions give you peace.

What brings you peace?

When people listen to you, respect you for what you have done to them , gives you a lot of contentment and peace.

When you help people, respond to them kindly in spite of them shouting at you angrily, gives you peace.

Yes, it is difficult to be kind and compassionate ,especially to those who only want to disturb you. But staying calm in such situations only makes you stronger and the other person weak.

Regret only comes from negative reactions, positive reactions only give you peace when you think about it after sometime. So never ever underestimate the power of goodwill, kindness and compassion.

Things or Experience

List 30 things that make you happy.

Near Joshimath

Well if you seek happiness in 30 material things, then you can never be happy at all. I truly believe that true happiness comes from experience rather than things.

Traveling, trekking, walking or even playing a sport can give you true joy. Material things can only give you temporary happiness which fades away pretty quickly .

I truly feel alive when I am traveling or trekking. That feeling when your heart is pumping while the cold wind coming from the mountains kisses your face in the presence of a roaring river nearby .

And your eyes passes the message of the greenery around directly to your soul. You are nothing but a speck of the beautiful creation. Your heart , mind and soul truly get aligned to feel that moment of happiness.

No material things can give you that divine happiness.

Habits I enjoy most

Describe one habit that brings you joy.

Somewhere in Himachal Pradesh

I really like to trek or hike in the shelter of nature. Apart from this, I love to read and write (mostly blogging).

Sometimes I play guitar and sing too, this was my favourite hobby but as time passed  I became distracted towards other hobbies and it became a passive hobby.

The real purpose of these habits or hobbies is to make you feel alive so that life feels like a gift and not a burden. It really makes you live and enjoy the present moment without the worries of the past and future.

So just like me, keep yourself busy by doing something you love most and if you are bored with one , try something else but never sit idle in your free time.

I am who you Imagine

How would you describe yourself to someone who can’t see you?

At Alpathar lake

Like a whimsical wind,

Flowing from the mountains,

Down to the  jungle of green,

Whispering to the souls ,

Freeing them of the earthly burden,

I am who you imagine,

Free from every attachment,

But loves to roam

Where your heart,

Finds your soul…..

And your tears,

Find your loving emotions….

I am who you love to imagine….

My feet want to sing more

What are your future travel plans?

Buran Ghati

My feet want to feel it again,

The snowy trail to the sky above.

Or the wet greens of the meadows,

Before it sleeps forever….

My feet want to push it again,

Beyond the pain and bruises,

Through the forest and bushes,

Farther, a little bit more….

My feet want to sing with my heart,

The song of mountains and seas,

To the north and south,

From the earth to heaven…..

I want to trek more and push myself to higher altitudes in the Himalayan region. For that I am working more on my fitness. I also want to explore more of the untouched Himalayas in the coming months.

Fighting  Hate

What would you change about modern society?

Hate is on the rise.

Religion, caste, colour, country have become new weapons

to differentiate people.

Showing Humanity is considered a weakness.

So the time has come,

To put your ego aside,

And save this world,

This creation of God,

From the demon called hate,

Through your divine weapon,

Love , respect and compassion.

Maybe you have to go through pain,

Maybe you have to face a war,

But you should not deter

From your path of love,

Because the world you dream,

Is not anything else but this.

Your peace , your heaven lies here.

And heaven sometimes needs sacrifice….
