When the Winter Comes

Time stands still,
When the mountains speak.
Their language flows,
Through icy winds.

Time stands still,
When the winters come.
The Sun choose to hide,
In the kingdom of white!

Life seems to struggle,
In the peace of white.
But the toughest choose to smile,
As the white become their way of life!

Lord Shiva’s Trail-Kedarkantha

Follow me on YouTube

Kedarkantha Trek is the most famous trek of the Indian Himalayas. It becomes a winter wonderland in the winter months (December to February) due to plenty of snow. Many take this trek as a pilgrimage because of various Legends related to Lord Shiva.

The name itself is connected to Lord Shiva – Kedar means Shiv and Kantha means Throat of Lord Shiva.

A Legend says that lord Shiva chose kedarkantha peak as his abode for meditation and solitude but a bull disturbed his peaceful state. This frustrated lord Shiva and he relocated to kedarnath , a town in Uttarakhand India, a more secluded place for his meditation.

Almost in the middle of the trek you witness the beauty of ‘ Juda ka Talab’ , a beautiful Himalayan lake. It is believed that when Lord Shiva was meditating, a drop of water trickled from his hair and formed this beautiful lake.

Juda ka talab

Another Legend is connected to Pandavas of Hindu Epic, Mahabharata. It is believed that Lord Shiva was angry with Pandavas for killing many during the great war of Mahabharata. So for forgiveness Pandavas wanted to meet Lord Shiva. But the Lord didn’t want to forgive them so easily and went to the Himalayas.

So he disguised himself as Bull but one of the Pandavas, Bheem recognised him and went after him. So lord Shiva hid underground and when he rushed from his Hiding place , he let his body ( of bull) get divided into different parts and threw it to different places of Himalayas . His throat fell at Kedarkantha thereby giving the name Kedar+Kantha.

Another year Another fight

Happy New year

Life seeping down
the abyss so quickly.
Another year passed
and you hardly noticed it.
The places you go,
the moments you cherish,
the memories you make ,
all become figments
of a distant past.
There’s so much to explore
before you close your eyes .

Another year, another fight,
struggles, fear and
everything in between.
Once more
dare to move forward.
Let’s go….

At kedarkantha peak

Stuck in a hazy nightmare,Lost in an urban illusion,Craving to get my breath,Back from the land above ! A faint whisper wakes me,From an urban slumber.Holds my face and echoes“Come to me in the land of Gods” O powerless soul! wake up,Free yourself from this muddle,The mess that pollutes ,Is created by you ! Into The Himalayas

The Buran Ghati trek video out now on my YouTube channel. Please like , comment and subscribe , you will surely enjoy it.

There’s a path which leads you
To the wilderness above.
I chose to walk on that
With my heavy breath.

It will test your will,
Through the forests and hills.
And the cold wind would sing
The song of life and death.

Your sweat and pain,
Will shine with snow.
And your life will glow,
With the beauty above.

Give me your might,
O beautiful Himalayas !
The chaos you’ve gone through,
And the strength to bear all.

A Place which Feels like Home

Every now and then we feel the urge to stop doing whatever we are doing and get away from the rat race of the cities. The tension, the chaos, the worries all take a toll on us. That’s the perfect time to connect to mother nature, the wilderness, the place from where our species evolved.

That’s what I thought one month ago and decided for the Buran Ghati trek which starts from the janglik, a remote Himalayan village in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

I will write about the adventure and challenges we faced during the trek soon. Till then enjoy the poetic video i posted above.

Walk Through

Walk as if
Your feet want to taste
The sweetness of the meadows,
Rustling through the misty green.

Walk as if
Your feet want to feel
The pain and the fun
Struggling through the snow.

Walk and explore
‘cause your heavy breaths
In the mountains
Infuse life you never knew…

The Way Of Water

Dayara Thach Himachal Pradesh

Though I am destined to flow ,
From the mountains to ocean,
Yet my curse is to wash away,
Everything that comes my way.

In some way I infuse,
Life in the living,
But when the sins overflow,
I Rain like fire to kill…(Flood)

I feel guilty to carry,
The living and dead.
I am the carrier of God
To play the game of life and death..
