Trembling in my deluge
Of gloomy uncertainty,
I yearn for an oasis
Of blooming clarity!
If I stop and curse
This mental confusion,
I might get stuck
In a whirlpool of delusion!
Darkness is not the absence
Of blinding light.
Darkness is deficiency
Of fortitude, that inner knight!
As I pierce my way
Through that receding night,
My path becomes clear and
I finally unite with that eternal light!

Thank you So much Murlikrish!
Great ending to the poem.
Suggestion–I would drop the word “stinking” to make that line more even in syllable length to the previous three.
I was also thinking the same… Thank you for your appreciation!
I try to make all of my rhyming lines the same syllable length, or be off by one syllable at most.
Yeah, actually I do it with my own instinct… Any valuable support from people like you is most welcomed….life is learning.. Thank you for this!
but that principle doesn’t apply to free verse poetry.
