What you have forgotten ?
Your deep inner self which resides in your consciousness, your true identity, which can only be accessed by the stillness of your mind .
What is stillness of mind?
By Stillness of mind, I mean when you are not thinking about the future or the past. In fact the process of thinking itself is not being in the present ,where your heart beats with every passing second.
Life is ‘now’ and you are not the slave of your mind. The reason behind most sufferings or grief is your mind. It makes you think , makes you accomplish things but at the same time it controls you to look for more wealth, exploit things before finally exploiting yourself.
How our thoughts affect us ?
If you can’t stop thinking about material things or can’t control your thoughts then you are surely enslaved by your mind. Most of us are slaves. And that’s why we struggle to find inner peace, happiness and even struggle to find the meaning of our existence.
Enlightened are those who can feel life right in the present without thinking too much about it.
Just try to find a moment for yourself , focus on your breathing, declutter your mind from all thoughts, feel the moment residing in the eternal now, the oneness ,yes right there your existence lies, your true identity.
The I is not our mind. The I is awareness itself. Thank you for deepening our understanding Piyush 🙏

Perfect affirmation and assessment… lovely uplifting post as usual, Piyush.
Thank you so much Lia for your wonderful words…
So true 🥰
Thank you larrisa….
That and perhaps conscience? I think if we just focus on soul we can be mislead. It has to be soul-acting-good. For example, I knew a person who said he saw a prostitute in India “for the experience.” As if to say it was okay to do this as some kind of ‘detached,’ ‘philosophical’ activity.
I think it is about the stability of mind and peace for most of our times …and if our actions or thoughts are not good or chaotic then our soul cannot be at peace for long…and also it depends on perceptions which can be different for many…
Yeah, I wasn’t thinking of you. I know you’ve got it. But some others can really distort that idea of atman/brahman or in Buddhism “plenum void” etc etc..
Haha…that technical part I am not fully aware of..I know you r quite an expert in that…I am just a student..
ha ha… no no no… an ‘expert’ learns all the original languages, goes to conferences, and knows absolutely nothing! 😄
Sometimes you get both… a mystic with the languages… but I haven’t met one with their head screwed on right, IMO (of course) 😇
Well it’s always a great time with them though…
Ask Luke how he liked spending time with Darth Vader!!!
The “me” is a detriment to perceiving the now. The me is all about Time. One must lose a sense of “me” to become timeless. Yes? Consider then the next question: Can thought be separated from sensory perceptions? In that stillness of mind that you describe, can you observe sensation without identifying with it? For once you identify with it, you are no longer Still. J. Krishnamurti’s responses on YouTube are fascinating talks to listen to. You can find those by searching on the questions above. All the best, CC
Yes, absolutely. Throughout our lives we search for meaning, answers of these questions through contemplations , experience and from our surroundings. Thank you for your valuable thoughts and suggestions….
All the best in 2022. —Mike
