Being You

How do you define success in life?

Being You Is the Real Success

Unemployment is rising, and people are constantly chasing their dreams. The rat race goes on endlessly. Some find their dream jobs, while others at least manage to secure decent employment. But most eventually find themselves trapped in the corporate or industrial rat race, becoming slaves to expectations, deadlines and an endless pursuit of success.

In this never-ending marathon of life, we often forget who we really are in our pursuit of becoming something. Sometimes, we don’t even try anymore because, despite all our efforts, we begin to believe that we are nothing but failures. But is that really the end of everything?

Is chasing something the only purpose of our existence?

Just stop for a moment. You are not your goals, nor are you what others think of you. Relax a little and silence the noise coming from the outside world. Look at the bigger picture. After all, whatever problems we face are tiny in comparison to the vastness of this universe. We are insignificant existences on a tiny blue dot, floating somewhere in the cosmic ocean. And after all our struggles, whether we win or lose, the world will eventually move on and people will forget us.

So why carry the burden of expectations throughout our lives?

Every breath you take should be free. It should find its own rhythm. It should follow what it loves and embrace what makes it feel alive. Break free from the shackles of expectations. Do what you love, but don’t make your happiness conditional on achieving a particular result.

Enjoying the process is perhaps the most important thing. It brings out the best in you and reveals your true character. It teaches you more about yourself than success or failure ever could.

Winning or losing suddenly becomes less important when you learn to appreciate the journey itself.

Because, in the end, being yourself is the real success.
