Glory Beyond

There’s a bridge across
An ocean full of miseries.
The bridge in the mist
To a paradise beyond !

I tread through that bridge
Through the darkness and haze.
Limped through the thorns
Breaking time and space !

And then I felt….

The caressing blooms
Healing bruises of my feet !
As I dwindle to that glory
Shimmering in the eternal now !

Reminds me a bit of the Indian spiritual figure Ramakrishna. If I remember right, he said that discarded tomatoes rot faster if they are bashed up. And more recently one guy I met once said, “God beats the hell out of us and then we get to go to heaven!” 🙂

Thank you for sharing your thoughts….the perception of heaven is different for all of us…it can be our own state of mind… Some think we can only get there by beating n burning our material self…some think it is here with us in the present, in the ‘now’

True… the meaning of the word varies probably from individual to individual! For me it’s a ‘place’ but also immanent to some extent… meaning we can have moments of grace and other experiences that are well beyond the mundane… 🙂 When I speak of getting ‘beaten up’ I’m talking about the idea of purification, which I think is part of life for most of us. Carl Jung likened the process to alchemy, which is an interesting metaphor because it involves not just oneself but other people too (as ‘chemical interactions…’ to follow his imagery..)

So true…. it’s like human form is a kind of filter of soul where the filter is full of chemicals to treat us …then the soul comes out of that filter , purer than before..

Beautiful… I like that idea of being ‘treated’ by the experience of life… 🙂
