Faith has brought both chaos and order in human civilization. On one hand it has taught ethics to humankind and on the other hand it has brought the evil side of humankind .
Yes, some humans had used faith or religion for their vested interests. It wiped out many civilization in the past in some bloodied wars.
But is our faith really wrong?
We really need to know that faith in the form of religion is the invention or imagination of humankind itself. So to call it right or wrong, to prove it right or wrong completely depend on us.
We really need to understand the true meaning of religion which is peace and compassion and not blood or hate. Sooner we realise that, better it is for our own existence.
Some people have faith in one supreme being or even see God in each and every element of nature. For them there is hardly any chance of going wrong since they will conserve, protect and respect every element of nature that includes animals and humans as well.
Is Science against faith or religion?
Science always asks for proof. It questions every phenomenon and that is its inherent quality. It has rules, laws , and therefore has it’s limitations.
Faith on the other hand is the imagination of humankind or probably his inner voice and therefore has no limitations. But it has to become liberal to allow science to question. If there is God out there who governs the universe then let science embark on a journey to find him. Maybe He is a force of creation.
The main motive of faith is to make us really humans by teaching us ethics, calming us in bad times and giving us contentment in the end.
Since faith is imagination or belief of man , it creates goals for Science. For example when Edison decided to invent bulb or something that will create light , he must had faith about it. He used faith to set his goals and then used science to accomplish that. His faith made him keep going in spite of many failures. And who benefited in the end, entire humankind !
Similarly, Science or believers of science have faith that there is life out there in space. They have to believe, they need to keep that faith to set their goals.
Therefore, we can say that science is an instrument of faith and both are significant for each other and not against each other.
So if you come across a man of faith or science , give him respect and always show empathy towards the people with whom you don’t agree !

Hi piyush – wise words. I tend to believe that faith isn’t the issue – but people who believe that others must submit to their ways of thinking. When they force others to think that Democracy or Communism or Christianity or Buddhism (or whatever) must be followed. When people aren’t given the freedom to pursue their own beliefs and have their own opinions – for me this is at the root cause of most suffering. In the modern world I think that a lack of faith or ethics has led the Western world to some dark places. Science should be pursed within the framework of some kind of moral codes – otherwise it can have disastrous consequences (hence the invention of the atomic bomb). It’s a very interesting and delicate topic you’ve bought up – but I think a very important one to discuss and debate. Wishing you all the best, Piyush 🙏
Yes , completely agree with you …to check each other from becoming corrupt we need both….as I always say empathy is the only order in our universe…everyone thinks different ly n we should respect that until he is not harming anyone physically…life itself started on earth because of harmony or empathy of celestial bodies…thank you for your sharing your wonderful thoughts…
Wonderful post! This is such an important topic. I agree that faith and science are not enemies. They are both so vitally important to humankind and each other. It’s interesting to ponder what faith has to offer to science and science has to offer to faith.
Yes, both are extremely important to check each other from becoming corrupt…to create balance…thank you for sharing your thoughts…

You’re welcome sir 🙂
I was nodding throughout.. I believe there is a supreme power in everything around, one of those types ☺️.
And the last paragraph is the most important take away I felt. Well penned Piyush
Thank you so much for agreeing with my views… it’s a very fascinating topic to talk about..really enjoyed writing
Great thoughts, wasn’t sure where you were going with this at first. But, I totally agree in the end. 👍🏻
Thank you for agreeing with this… really appreciate your comment…
Science continues to evolve. Faith can grow stronger over time, or be broken in a flash when someone (who claims to be religious) takes advantage or hurts another. But the universe organizes chaos into a variety different patterns or order. ❤️🦋🌀🙏
So true, completely agree ….thank you for sharing your valuable thoughts….
Yes, it’s all about respecting each other’s views
Yes it is….thank you for your precious words…
Very interested topic and great views 😀
Thanks a ton for your precious comment
Faith and science could potentially coexist if neither pushed against the other. There has been more research on the science of faith.. I do not know all, but a documentary called “What the bleep do we know” goes into some of it.
So true , completely agree with your thoughts…thanks for letting me know about this documentary…and thnk you for your precious comment..
Very interesting read!
Thank you so much for your precious words…
Hey I really like this because some battle with these two as if they are oil and water. Just a question to make sure I’m not taking the wrong thing from your work. When referring to faith I am under the impression you are meaning faith in God correct? Because I felt like as it went on it was referring to faith as in the action of faith, not specifically spiritual faith. Either way it’s all very well put I just want to know so if I’m telling someone about your blog I’m not misquoting your true vision. But excellent everyone should be so understanding.
Yeah actually both or for me having faith in something means you indirectly believe in some supreme power even though you deny it…in this post I for the most part meant faith in God…thanks a ton for reading…
Well-said: “We really need to understand the true meaning of religion which is peace and compassion and not blood or hate.”
Thank you Benjamin for your precious feedback
You’re welcome!
Having faith is trusting the unknown….while science weighs risks of that faith. Question is which one do we listen to…
We should try to listen to our inner voice..it will always create harmony between the two…thanks for your precious feedback
Interesting read. Thanks for writing
You’re welcome
Science can explain the natural world. Faith helps us understand what is beyond the natural world.
