Understanding Free Will

Many believe that our paths are laid out long before we are born and continue to another after we perish.

Is it true that our lives are predetermined? Is it right to say that we are puppets of a higher order?

In the world of Artificial Intelligence and robotics, the brain is coded to perform certain predetermined tasks. This system never deters from it’s command when it is left to perform since it doesn’t have conscience.

But with humans this may or May not be true. Let’s try to understand this.

There are 2 things predetermined for us- Life itself and death, the beginning and the end. There is no free will to control that. But everything in between is quite bewildering. We come across so many people throughout our lives, live in different surroundings and are influenced by these elements in some or the other way. These influences affect us to take different paths as per our motivations.

In a way we constantly deter from our usual course and work or behave under the influence of something throughout our lives. This cannot be coded by someone before our lives. Here we can say that free will exists in the form of collective consciousness.

But does free will means we can bounce back and fourth in time as per our freedom?

Some scientists will say we can, we just need to grow with our knowledge. But for now we think that time is linear, it proceeds uniformly, Eternally into infinity.
There is no beginning and end in the never ending circle of time. Past, present and future are just illusions in that circle where you can’t differentiate which is which.

If we know our fate in the future would it force us to take decisions to change that?

Well in absolute or broader terms we at least know that we are going to die one day. So all our decisions may take different paths but all those paths would lead to the same point, death. The Circle of time will continue, life to death, death to life, past to future and future to past. But there are some hard questions to answer.

If life and death are inevitable and the end result is death then what we do in between may not be significant .

What’s our purpose then? Our existential crisis?

Here’s my opinion-
When you look at the celestial bodies like Sun and Earth, when you look at nature, trees and plants, you will see that irrespective of their fate they carry on to do their job that is to create light and sustain life .They live in the present and fulfil their purpose that is to Give.

A life has no meaning if it doesn’t touches another life positively. Love, Compassion, empathy, humility, kindness and respect give meaning to a life, give purpose to our lives. The happiness which we feel when we do something for others.

If we live in the hearts of the generation to come then we live forever, this is our free will. The contentment which it brings is too great to express in terms of science.

Our existence depends on both science and philosophy, both are significant. Science shows us the path, Philosophy teaches us how to live that path. This is our absolute purpose even if there is nothing absolute in the universe.

So free will exists in between life and death, it is our present which gives us the ultimate boon of free will.
We may not be present in the form of matter in the future but our existence may survive in time through our Karma in the hearts of others. And maybe that Karma is the God we question so often!

Live in the present, stay blessed!

Those Soldiers

Up, on those mountains,
At those freezing heights
Everything trembles
Under those heavy feet.
Those unabated spirits
Roar against every bullet
Which pierce their skin
Obliterate when they touch
Their mighty souls!
Every blow that dent
Their bodies, melt when they
Kiss their relentless grit.

O Mighty soldiers!
Your love for the motherland
Flows deep in the veins
Of the nation you guard.
O Brave soldiers!
Your love for the motherland,
Breathe deep in those muddy trenches
Where you sleep at last!
O Brave warriors!
You are an epitome of sacrifice,
Your tale will be told till we survive!

Empathy

The reason we exist is because of the balance of nature, because of the empathy of the universe and yet we humans lack it to a great extent. And that’s why there is so much of chaos nowadays.

Our violent yellow star can annihilate our planet if it really touches it physically but it chooses to stay away and show its kindness by giving life to us.

Similarly the planets, the moons, the stars and the galaxies all depend on each other for their survival. Empathy rules to a great extent, Infact life itself is a product of empathy, the balance.

I know many people will say its all about science but mind you even science has a heart!

But we humans are deterring from our path. We hardly care about others, barely connect with them , hate has become a new normal . Compassion has become a rare commodity and apathy is pushing us towards sufferings, greater chaos.

Global warming, intolerance , prejudice, riots, pandemic have become a new normal. On an individual scale mental health has taken a beating. Depression, anxiety, suicides we are seeing it all.

RIP Sushant

Currently the entire India and many fans across the world mourning the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, one of the finest actors of Bollywood. If only people around him understood him, if only he was not surrounded by heartless people who let him down, things would have been different. People hardly noticed it on his ever smiling face.

Another Joker faded away giving his all to the audience!

You will never get it What’s there inside those smiling faces until you connect with them, share their grief, Happiness and everything. Hate should be avoided at any cost even if you don’t agree with them.

Connections, friendly talks, compassion can do magic to create balance in our lives.

Kindness is the light we need right now. Sooner we realise the importance of empathy in our lives the better we will become, the longer we will survive.

Empathy is the only order in this universe!

Stay connected, show kindness, be around the people who listen!

Poverty Speaks

Life has been quite awful for many people these days but nothing Worst than the adversities of the poor labourers in India.

They have been over utilised, exploited by the capitalists for building their empire and now they have been dumped on the road to suffer with no food, no help.

All they want is to return home when the world is stagnant with no work around. My heart grieves for them.

Poverty speaks….

My sweat built
Your soaring Castles
I gulped tremendous pain
To Fulfil your worldly desires
And I didn’t complain
Even for a second
For the tiny bread
You thrown at me in return
But now when I want you
To stand by me
You only discarded me
I am bruised,
But I have not lost hope
I will walk forever on the road
The place where my heart is
The place called home.
My sufferings are not new
May not shake your inner core
Because maybe I am poor
And poverty is only meant
To lie on the road and suffer!

Be grateful to what you have and be an Angel for the needy!

Embrace Goodness

Self clicked

Sacred is the noble thoughts lying all around us in oblivion.

Respect and Humility are the first steps towards believing in God. Without this you can’t proclaim yourself a Believer.

We all are designed and coded to see and embrace the goodness all around us. Everything else disturbs us. Violence intimidates us. Disrespect hurts us. Hate blinds us. So why we choose to deter from our path?

Is it the law of nature? Entropy or chaos always increases in the universe. Is it true with humans as well? When we are born we are the purest ones, most civilised ones. And as time passes we become corrupt?

No this can’t be true. Yes some people choose wrong paths. But some, in spite of their painful experiences are adamant. They are never shaken, pushed or knocked from their sacred, virtuous path.

It’s only because of these people, there is still order in this world.
So we have to focus and emulate goodness all around us and avoid everything hateful. Because love and respect is the only way forward.

And everything else is an ugly illusion.

Stay happy, spread love and respect everyone!

Why we need God…

In order to know him
You have to become a disbeliever
Walk through a sceptical path
Through the maze of darkness
Seek the realm of science
Surrendering to knowledge
Because it is only
Going through darkness
You might find him
And find light

When we were kids, we had so much faith on our parents. They were our Gods and no matter what, they protected us, fulfilled our needs. We had so much happiness in their company.

But as we grow up and get expose to knowledge of our surroundings, we tend to lose that faith with which we were born. We still love our parents but only able to convince ourselves in one or the other way that God doesn’t exist.

The reason behind our sudden disbelieving is our failures, our loss, our defeats. Sometimes, some of us believe so much in science that we think that there is no need of God in the realms of laws of nature.

But believe me or not the first step towards believing is disbelieving. You have to seek the realm of science in order to understand the nature of any supreme being if he exist because maybe we are still in the phase of that dark tunnel.

We are going through a dark time, a pandemic which has defeated our knowledge of science. We still are far away from that ultimate truth, knowledge or science that can fight these situations effectively.

Till then a person who is on his death bed, the only solace for him is his belief on God. God is peace to him, he maybe a state of mind but it is definitely our cure of grief.

Therefore we need God like never before. So all sceptics in the world, maybe you are going in the right direction. Just follow science and have respect for everyone because it is only through humbleness we can see and understand clearly.

The Arrow of Entropy

Arrow of time
Pushing us forward to chaos
Our order is melting
With increasing disorder

Aging is difficult
With fears capturing our mind
A man becomes pessimist
With the ticking of clock

This is the law of nature
Law of science
Every system is bound
To collapse or Die

But we have the power
To delay this demon
With firing our love
And Cleansing with compassion

Corona Virus is our Karma

You heard it right?

Corona Virus is the demon we have created. It is our own karma for all the wrongs we did against nature.

From burning of Amazon forests to bushfires in Australia, from cutting of Aarey forests in Mumbai to deforestation all over the world, nature had enough to retaliate. Corona Virus is the product of brutality committed by mankind towards wild life, one of the most essential elements of nature.

Nature has its own mechanism to rebel, corona virus is one such mechanism.

Now nobody is talking about religious conflicts or human conflicts. Entire humanity is running for cover against the wrath of nature.

Do we still have hope? Can humanity recover from this fast enough?

Once again nature can save us in spite of our apathy towards it. It is the Angel we are praying now. Our own immune system, is also a part of nature, can save us.

Is our immune system strong enough to tame this demon? Most of us will say no but we can enhance it through exercises, Yoga or any other work out. Some may not agree but something is better than nothing.

Can nature’s own gift, Ayurveda or our immunity save us from this pandemic, when all other treatments are far away, remain to be seen.
But enough is enough, we can’t survive without nature.

We have to give back nature what it deserves. Otherwise, nature saw our birth and will see us dying, too.

So it is my appeal to all readers
Save wildlife, preserve nature and of course work out daily!

Religions are modes Of transport and all roads lead to one ultimate goodness.

Respect other vehicles on the road because we all have to reach smoothly and safely to the same destination.

Also respect pedestrians who are atheists as they too are walking on the same path towards the same Ultimate destination.

The Circle – part 3

The Circle-part 1

The Circle-part 2

(Read the first and second part by clicking above)

The rain eased but the pain increased. My bloodied body seeked nothing but his last destination . As I swam, the cold water pushed me ahead towards a destination unknown. Then it felt like heaven, the sands in my hand. It felt like I reached the place I seeked. I reached an unknown island and pushed myself on the sand with my face down. I tried to lift my face and saw a tin shade a few yards away.

I slowly slithered on the sand and reached the tin shade. There was no one there. I thought about them and wondered if they would come back for me. I had nothing left but the last few seconds to think about my father, the most valuable memories of my life. I was loosing my senses.

I looked into the heavens, it cracked open. I saw an extremely illuminating light coming down from the sky and it landed on water. I was about to sleep. I was falling into a trance. I saw few people coming out of water towards me and they were wearing an enclosed helmet on their head. And then it clicked again, the memories came back. As those people came to rescue me and fixed me I got lost in my memories.

As I entered the room I saw a man crying tremendously for something. He was down on his knees with his hands soaked in blood . I came closer to see something which rocked me to my core. Lying in the pool of blood I saw their ghostly faces, the wife and the little son.

I thought, “What evil he has done, killed his own family?”

But his dejected face wanted to say something else. “Father why are you crying”, someone interrupted.

I looked up to see a young man with a knife, soaked in blood. He was the elder son of the man. The father, full of rage, grabbed his elder son’s face with his hands and screamed-

“I trusted you, what you have done! I loved you so much but you killed my heart and soul”.

The son replied, “I just wanted your love. You loved them so much and hardly cared about me which made me jealous. And so I eliminated them. “

The son looked delusional . The father became furious but when he looked at his son and started crying

“ You sick, naive idiot! They were my life and now you have killed me rather than them. I am gonna kill you. “

He was totally engulfed with rage. Then he snatched the knife from his son and stabbed him many times. I was shocked to see that. Why the hell he did that? He had nothing to live for. The wrath of a vulnerable man finished everything beautiful in his life.

I came closer to the lifeless body of the elder son and observed something odd. There was no blood. Then I remembered, the son was Ali and of course we don’t have blood. We are machines, an AI powered humanoid robots.

My father always thought that his machine was perfect and it would not become corrupt with time like humans but he was wrong. The code was perfect but the time makes everything imperfect. It ages us, it grieves us, it corrupts us and finally kills us. And so Ali became corrupted with time. The loss of my creator’s family was beyond his capacity. He was broke, dejected and wanted to kill himself but he found a purpose. A second chance to achieve perfection in his invention. So he decided to create his third son. He longed for a family.

And so to achieve perfection, he built me, guided me, gave me his memories and his reflection. He also gave me his dreams. But to beat time from making me corrupt, he killed my clock. Every time I sleep, I loose memory of my past and start my day fresh. But my creator injected a code to keep the most valuable memories intact which I only remember for few minutes before I am about to sleep. It was a glitch, an imperfection to create perfection.

But the imperfections of humankind took a toll on planet earth. Man’s greed became his downfall. He induced global warming, burnt forests and did everything to destroy his home. So they were finally forced to find another home and they tried to built it on Mars. They started terraforming Mars and used every possible technology to make it quick but once again time beaten them. Just when the Mars started to become green with a patch of blue , the earth became red and the conditions were not enough for humans to live on Mars. So my father came to their rescue.

He knew that his generation may not survive but his invention may start the circle of life. He gave his technology to humanity. Many humanoid robots, powered by Artificial intelligence were created and sent to Mars. Their sole purpose was terraforming Mars and making it liveable for humans. My father fixed Ali and sent both of us to Mars. All of us were coded to stuck in a loop of time. We don’t remember our past after every sleep. We only had our most precious memories which we remember for few minutes before we slept.

But the code was deceived again and the machines started becoming corrupt following their loop for few times. But I was the exception. I was the only one who stayed uncorrupted in spite of living for 250 years on Mars. That glitch which helped me to remember my father and see his reflections, also helped me to achieve what he seeked. It game me conscience and every life I came across whether humans or machines developed compassion and empathy for every creation. But Ali was exception, his sins were terrible which needed even time’s assistance to become pure.

We don’t know what had happened to planet earth and the only humans I saw live in the orbit of the Mars. They occasionally come and help us in our endeavour to make Mars sustain life. They never spoke about earth. Maybe they told us but we are coded to keep only the most precious memories. For now, we are at the brink of creating life on Mars. We turned it from red to green and now from green to blue. Yes we made the oceans, a primordial soup to start life. We are the end and the beginning of the circle of life.

“Hey, wake up Akash! We fixed you and want to check you ”. I opened my eyes and saw humans looking at me, inside a closed room.

One of them asked, “Do you have your memories intact? “.

I replied, “Yes I have my precious memories. I hope you took care of my brother, Ali”.

They smiled and one of them replied, “You dubious machine! Do you still see your father’s reflection and hear his voice around you? “.

I was quite annoyed, “Yes I see and hear him but I want to know that my brother, Ali is safe. “.

Once again they smiled and the other one replied, “You think you are perfect. But perfection is nothing but a journey. You are pessimistic about time but the same time is trying to heal your wounds. You are not perfect just like Ali because my friend-“

He paused , “You are Ali. It is an evil part of you and your good code is trying to correct that glitch every time you wake up. So for now, time to sleep again. And yes thank you again for your work for Humankind”.

Then I heard an epiphany song and slept peacefully.
