Lord Shiva and his Third Eye

Google image

If you see some pictures of Lord Shiva ,there is a third eye on his forehead which is mostly half closed. This third eye is highly symbolic.

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva is the God of destruction, he is also the Beginning of Creation. In fact, his ‘Tandav’ dance symbolises cosmic dance of the universe, which is the cycle of creation , preservation and Destruction.

Whenever corruption and sins go out of proportion in the universe, Lord Shiva opens his third eye to destroy them and bring balance or order in this world. There are various interpretations about it.

One such theory is that , since Lord Shiva is Yogi his third eye symbolises inner eye or spiritual eye which see the world beyond the material world.

When our two eyes become blind or get lost in the gloom and corruption of the material world then we have to try to see through our inner eye which is obviously difficult.

While our two physical eyes see the world and get lost in the illusion of past and future, our inner eye exist in the eternal ‘Now’ and helps us to know the real meaning of our existence.

This inner vision is a practice, a kind of meditation which enables us to live in the present which is devoid of any negativity of past and future. It calms us , give us peace and help us to see the physical world with a broader perspective.

Today is Mahashivratri, the great night of the lord Shiva. It is the night of unison of Shiva and Shakti (union of Universe’s Dark Matter and energy)– the embodiment of love, power, and oneness. May this occasion opens the inner eye of this already troubled world and brings happiness and peace in this world.

Understanding Free Will

Many believe that our paths are laid out long before we are born and continue to another after we perish.

Is it true that our lives are predetermined? Is it right to say that we are puppets of a higher order?

In the world of Artificial Intelligence and robotics, the brain is coded to perform certain predetermined tasks. This system never deters from it’s command when it is left to perform since it doesn’t have conscience.

But with humans this may or May not be true. Let’s try to understand this.

There are 2 things predetermined for us- Life itself and death, the beginning and the end. There is no free will to control that. But everything in between is quite bewildering. We come across so many people throughout our lives, live in different surroundings and are influenced by these elements in some or the other way. These influences affect us to take different paths as per our motivations.

In a way we constantly deter from our usual course and work or behave under the influence of something throughout our lives. This cannot be coded by someone before our lives. Here we can say that free will exists in the form of collective consciousness.

But does free will means we can bounce back and fourth in time as per our freedom?

Some scientists will say we can, we just need to grow with our knowledge. But for now we think that time is linear, it proceeds uniformly, Eternally into infinity.
There is no beginning and end in the never ending circle of time. Past, present and future are just illusions in that circle where you can’t differentiate which is which.

If we know our fate in the future would it force us to take decisions to change that?

Well in absolute or broader terms we at least know that we are going to die one day. So all our decisions may take different paths but all those paths would lead to the same point, death. The Circle of time will continue, life to death, death to life, past to future and future to past. But there are some hard questions to answer.

If life and death are inevitable and the end result is death then what we do in between may not be significant .

What’s our purpose then? Our existential crisis?

Here’s my opinion-
When you look at the celestial bodies like Sun and Earth, when you look at nature, trees and plants, you will see that irrespective of their fate they carry on to do their job that is to create light and sustain life .They live in the present and fulfil their purpose that is to Give.

A life has no meaning if it doesn’t touches another life positively. Love, Compassion, empathy, humility, kindness and respect give meaning to a life, give purpose to our lives. The happiness which we feel when we do something for others.

If we live in the hearts of the generation to come then we live forever, this is our free will. The contentment which it brings is too great to express in terms of science.

Our existence depends on both science and philosophy, both are significant. Science shows us the path, Philosophy teaches us how to live that path. This is our absolute purpose even if there is nothing absolute in the universe.

So free will exists in between life and death, it is our present which gives us the ultimate boon of free will.
We may not be present in the form of matter in the future but our existence may survive in time through our Karma in the hearts of others. And maybe that Karma is the God we question so often!

Live in the present, stay blessed!

The Arrow of Entropy

Arrow of time
Pushing us forward to chaos
Our order is melting
With increasing disorder

Aging is difficult
With fears capturing our mind
A man becomes pessimist
With the ticking of clock

This is the law of nature
Law of science
Every system is bound
To collapse or Die

But we have the power
To delay this demon
With firing our love
And Cleansing with compassion

Lord Shiva and his Dark Energy and Matter

Lord Shiva is not only a deity of Hindus but also the symbol of dark energy and matter. More than 90 percent of our universe comprises Dark matter and energy.

Both dark energy and matter do not come in contact with normal matter and that’s why we can’t perceive it. But it has a force which is helping in the expansion of our Universe. All matter perceivable to us comes from this unknown source.

It is or He is both the creator and the destroyer in our universe . Here’s a poem dedicated to Lord Shiva on the occasion of Shivratri

In the beginning
Life sparked from his singularity
And There began circle of mortality
From Life to death
And death to life
The Circle continue
With his cosmic dance
He is the beginning
He is the end
His light is beyond
Everyone to understand.
His symphony is creation
His song is destruction
His glory will continue
Eternally for everyone.

The Symphony of Time

Past, present or future
An illusion of this master
Elements are dancing
From atoms to stars
From Life to death
On the Symphony of time

Sometimes it runs slow
Sometimes it runs fast
From where it came
To where it goes
Maybe we’ll never know
The Symphony of time

A beautiful day in the woods

Drenched in the dirt
Of corrupted society
Suffocated in the smoke
Of polluted city
I longed nothing but
To get out of my anxiety

Far away in the mountains

I walked with the river
Swam with the icy breeze
Felt my life, my sunrise
With the sun shining
Through the misty pines
And snowy peaks.

Mother’s Day

Some people don’t believe in God and always question him. Most of us define God as the one who has created this universe , the one who has created us and try to find him. But we never realise our creator is around us, the one who make sure that we always smile, the one who sacrifice so much for us to make sure our lives become a perfect one. She is the one who has created us , our mothers.
My mother sacrificed her life for me, for her family. But still I see her in my dreams, alive and always inspiring me to move ahead in life by overcoming all the difficulties. I know she is watching me from heaven and guiding me in the right direction through one or the other way.
You can’t deny the fact that Mothers are epitome of sacrifice. Sometimes A son can go wrong but a mother is never wrong!
Hats off to all the mothers of the world. Make her feel special every day so that you don’t regret later!

Happy Mother’s day to all !

Divine Connection

The moons revolve around planets, the planets revolve around the sun, the sun revolves around the massive black hole in the centre of our galaxy and our galaxy revolves around other galaxies. Everything in the universe is connected , all depend on each other for their survival and continuosly look for reasons or insipirations from their surroundings to thrive. Maybe that’s how the life suppose to be, the continuous struggle to motivate and inspire yourself to be happy!

If you are breathing, you got to find some goal , otherwise there is no reason of all this. Sometimes it is tough to do that but it is the only way forward. You got to remember one thing in life that it is imperfect. All the negative elements- dejection , frustation, defeats, losses, apathy, sufferings do not last forever. Infact these experiences just increase the taste of happiness when you finally get it. In this way you can say that these negative experience have their own importance in life.

The best way to overcome negative experience in life is by connecting with the people around. Maybe they are the miracle you are looking for just like the sun for our planet. They can share your grief, can give you inspiration, can guide  you towards right direction. You believe it or not just the presence of others in bad times makes you feel comfortable.  Its like a magical charm that has given purpose to our universe, that has harmonized our  system.
