A Father’s Sacrifice

Describe a man who has positively impacted your life.

A man who stood tall,

Against the cyclone of time.

A man who stayed with his love,

Till her last breath,

And kept his promise.

The promise to be the mother,

To be the perfect father,

To their most beautiful creation,

Their kids….

Most of us believe that God has created us, but some skeptics want proof. I guess the biggest proof is always around you, they not only created you but also ensured that you grow up under their shadow to become a perfect image of them .

Yes, they are your parents, they are living Gods around you. They are the epitome of sacrifice , a perfect example that God not only takes care of you but also forgives you if you lose your way.

Exactly 13 years ago ( quite a coincidence with this prompt) my mother took her last breath. She was suffering from kidney failure. My father stayed with her till the end like a pillar.

He used to stay all night with my mother when she felt the pain after every dialysis to give her comfort and in the morning without any sleep he attended his office duties . My mother in her last days was extremely worried about me and my 2 sisters and so my father promised her to be the perfect parent to their kids.

Since then that man has ensured everything in the world for his kids. Like a mother he cooked food for his kids, like a father ensured the safety of his kids and like a God stayed with his kids in their bad days.

It’s quite impossible for me to give back everything to him but I will try my best to be a perfect son. I guess you should worship your parents every day, a time also comes when that baton is passed on to you to become an image of them.

An element of that light is there in all of us and it’s up to us how soon we recognise or realise about that .

Understanding Free Will

Many believe that our paths are laid out long before we are born and continue to another after we perish. Is it true that our lives are predetermined? Is it right to say that we are puppets of a higher order? In the world of Artificial Intelligence and robotics, the brain is coded to perform […]

Fighting Stage Fright

Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?

It’s quite natural for us to feel the fear of going on stage and performing or speaking in front of a crowd. You become numb and either hesitate to speak or forget the tune or lyrics while performing. It mostly happens when you have not done it before or going on stage after a long gap.

It happened to me in my school and college days. If you are reading my blog you know I used to sing and play guitar in my college days. I felt the fear initially and I realised with time that practice off the stage is the key.

The more you practice, the better you will become. When you practice again and again in spite of Knowing that you have mastered it, it comes into your habit. And when something comes into your habit, it doesn’t require much of your brain to process it.

For example if you learnt to drive a car and you are driving it regularly then your brain has very little to do while driving. Your hands and legs move almost automatically on gear , steering, clutch, brake and accelerator since it is engrained in your habit or muscle memory.

This process also works on stage. Most of us feel stage fright and it mostly happens because our mind or brain plays games with us. It haunts us but if you have practiced hard enough your muscle memory (or habit) is more than enough to overcome stage fright.

So next time before you go on stage , make sure you have madly rehearsed your performance off stage.

When the losers Rise

What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

Alpathar Lake Gulmarg

Perfection is inspiring. A perfectionist grabs the attention of many people. People try to become like them, become like their idol , a genius. But very few become like them and so become frustrated.

Yes, it is true that all those idols , genius or perfectionists work extremely hard to become what they are now and most of them hardly get defeated.

But, I believe you learn more from the fallen ones because they are like you , because they are not geniuses and they are a mediocre talent like you. We should look for those people and wait for their rise when after several defeats they managed to utilise a single cell of their remaining strength to bounce back.

These people were once called losers but they didn’t give up. They had faith in their abilities and so worked extremely hard to taste a single grain of success. Sometimes they do not even get success but they never stop trying till their last breath.

These people teach you to never doubt your abilities, maybe you are weak but if you are living you should never stop trying.

To keep moving or to keep grinding should be the motto of life because contentment comes from your hard work more than your success.

Celebrity Question – daily prompt

Share five things you’re good at.

Well , most people don’t care what you are good at unless you are a celebrity..

Anyways the WordPress community makes you feel that. So here is my response if you are reading…

In my school and college days I have been very good in music and cricket. I used to play guitar and sing , I participated in choir and in various cultural programs.

Then for the rest of the time I have been a very important member of the school cricket team. We did great then, won a few tournaments and saw my name in newspapers a couple of times.

Apart from this,  the other 3 things I am good at, or I believe I am good at are video editing, writing and encouraging people .

Well if your skill is to motivate others and make them feel good when they are having a bad day, then you are doing a great job, probably better than anything else.

So my celebrity time is over, I hope you all are doing fine….

Changing yourself

What is one thing you would change about yourself?

When you are born , you are hardly aware of fear. As you grow , you come across various obstacles like fear , self doubt and low will power . These negative thoughts stop you from progressing in life.

But , apart from this some of us luckily come across courage. To some it comes from within and to some it comes from people around them like parents, teachers, friends or coaches.

When it comes to me , I was an introvert kid. I hardly made friends and that made me extremely nervous on stage or speaking in public. My only source of strength was my parents.

With time , I progressed slowly and I somehow dared to perform as a musician on stage and sometimes I spoke in public. I came to realise the more you will push yourself to do difficult things , the better you will become. Practice is the biggest key.

But then time passed , I got failures, few successes here and there but mostly I was dented by a new obstacle , Procrastination!

I am the king of all Procrastinators. Things which I should have done a long time ago are still pending now. My sane mind shouts at me to do certain things but I somehow manage to ignore . I sometimes feel an invisible force is pulling me like I am a slave of someone.

I guess , procrastination is the enemy of many humans. It surely diminishes the capabilities of a man. It diminishes the will power as well which is the after effect of this. You already know how to tackle this , you just need to stand up, move and start doing without overthinking.

I hope in the near future I will tackle this problem in a much better way. And fear, I will try to face head on, it doesn’t matter whether I lose or win , what does matter is my fight.

I hope my fellow readers , you too keep fighting because life is not only about struggles but your fight against struggles too.

A Night that felt like a dream

Are you more of a night or morning person?

Pabbar Valley Himachal pardesh at night

It rained and snowed throughout the trek (Buran Ghati pass Trek). The days were spent in frustration as we walked under the angry clouds that thrashed us with sleet , snow and rain. We walked among the angry mountains and we spent most of our time in tents at camps.

Just before our summit day ( buran pass), it snowed heavily and our chance of crossing the pass looked bleak . But then just at the exact time we had to start the climb , the clouds found their peace and they opened up to reveal the beauty my eyes weren’t expecting.

The entire landscape glowed with snow under the light of the moon. It felt like a different planet, maybe a paradise looked like that. The peace of that night flowed on the cold breeze that came from the sacred Himalayas . It whispered the tales of Gods that roamed in those valleys from the beginning of time.

The whole experience probably stayed in my mind like a precious jewel which is impossible for me to forget.

So now whenever I think of nights , I think of that night which really felt like a fairytale. Since then whenever I wake up in the middle of the night , I feel the same shiver which I felt on that night. And sometimes those memories come back as a dream on some nights…..

Becoming a Mountain

New Video out now on my YouTube channel

Hello there,
Are You listening?
Wherever you are
If my voice is reaching you
I want you to know
This is what you seek.
This is where you should be.
I was lost and
A part of me missed something.
What is the meaning of my existence?
Where am I going in life?
The questions without answers,
Invisible in the smoke
Of the Concrete Jungle.

Somehow I managed,
to hear a distant echo,
The call of the mountain!
Now here I am
surrendering to him.
Letting it shape me,
Letting it define me.
Letting it push me.
The struggles , the pain , the grief
All feels nothing ,
When you stand still,
Against the storm
Or the chaos of the universe.
Here I am
Becoming a Mountain.

Alpathar Lake

Alpathar Lake

Sometimes to get the best of nature you have to embark on a difficult trail.

Alpathar Lake, also known as a frozen lake, is located at the base of the Apharwat Peak in Gulmarg Kashmir. To reach here, you have to first climb the Apharwat Peak ( 4390 meters) and then descend a little to the other side to reach this lake.

Lake from Apharwat Peak

This Alpine lake remains frozen most of the year and the best way to reach here is to take a Gondola ride (cable car) to the second phase situated at an altitude of 3950 meters, on the Slopes of Apharwat Peak.

From there, you have to trek for almost 3.5 km to reach this gem of the Indian Himalayas. This trek includes a difficult ascent to the top of Apharwat Peak and then descent of almost 50 meters to the other side.

As soon as you get the first sight of the lake from the top of the peak , you get lost in its beauty. You become a part of the eternal ‘Now’, totally captivated in the present and hardly care for the past and future.

I guess that’s what is the purpose of hiking such natural wonders. It truly rejuvenates  your soul and gives you a broader perspective towards life. You don’t want those moments to end but you have to go back to your civilization.

Such moments cannot be captured fully through your lenses but the photos remind you of those moments , deeply etched in your brain.

Happy World Photography Day

Are you Alive

Sonmarg

So many things go unnoticed as you age. You hardly feel your life until something interesting happens. But between those events life flows and you hardly notice it.

Time seems to run quickly and you continuously try to take control of it but time bluffs you and takes control of you. You become a part of the daily rush , follow rules and habits , and hardly feel your life in that chaos.

Happiness seeps in , boredom fills in , sorrows follow and only the toughest ones stay stable. Yes,  these feelings remind you that you are alive but how to fill  happiness in most of your moments is a continuous struggle. Because that is something humans mostly crave.

Humans are by nature curious animals . From the beginning of evolution they tried to explore the unknown. That adventure made them most alive. The power of adrenaline makes them stay in the present moment. In  that moment Every cell becomes active and continuously remind them of life.

And the sense of achievement after that exploration either desired or not give them wisdom , an inspiration to continue.

That’s why taking a break from your daily job is very important. Travel ,any sports, or anything that keeps your adrenaline flowing beyond your comfort zone is important. Lucky are those whose daily job involves all these things or experiences.

Well that’s enough of the wisdom I shared today. I am not an expert in this field ,I share my thoughts and try to keep up with the name of the blog.

Thank you all readers for your patience.
