Book Review – An Absolutely Remarkable Thing

A very fast paced, emotional, gripping and thought provoking story written by Hank Green, brother of John Green. Probably that was the reason I bought this book but I ended up becoming a fan.

This book is so densely crafted like there is a whole new city inside a dream. There are puzzles to solve in that city which are at various locations, one of them is under the tile of a restaurant and it is very important to solve those puzzles because the whole world is dependent on that. You will be compelled to get sucked inside the imagination of the writer plus there is a twist in the end. Maybe a sequel is coming.

Fame comes with a lot of responsibility, it has the power to mould humanity. Protagonist, April May constantly fights with her inner turmoil and fears to create a meaning in this world by giving purpose to herself and humanity. Her struggles, her journey is so deeply written that you will fall in love with her in the end. This work of fiction is perfectly mixed with strong emotions and you will come across some enlightening quotes as well. On of them is-

We are each individuals, but the far greater thing is what we are together, and if that isn’t protected or cherished, we are headed to a bad place.

It is a perfect work of fiction which is equally touching. Overall a remarkable debut by this author!
