A boulevard of sufferings

Candid shots- pexels.com

A boulevard of worldly sufferings
I chose to stroll at twilight.
A jobless peasant sulking with
Only adversity in belly at roadside !

This boulevard is flooded with tears,
I failed to cleanse with moonlight.
the deafening cries of a mother
Who fails to feed her poor child !

This boulevard of trembling souls,
The victims of apathetic affluence.
The heartless fortunate capitalists
Who ignored them on the road !

This boulevard of cracking bones,
The skeletal remains of humankind.
I tread through this rubble of sickness,
Succumbing to blows of immoral kinds !

        Absolutely, Friend! We have to take care of each other.

  16. christcenteredruminations November 30, 2020 / 5:17 pm

    Wow deep words here friend. Life does seem like that sometimes. I cannot help but feel bad for what some people in the world are going through, I see it and I know that there is something deeper. There is a deeper, and that deeper connects to the deepness within. When things get rough, God is the roadmap.There is literally nothing that God cannot do. God does even impossible things. He has the power to heal communities, nations and people. At times when life is low, we need to look up to God who is on high. When life is high, we still need to bow our heads low to the God who is on high. God is the healer, the deliverer, the teacher and the friend.

    Your poem takes my mind to many places, but especially to the things of God.

    My mind goes to what the Bible said in Isaiah 41:10:

    “So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”.

    These words are strong. I hold on to them, and share them with whoever cares to have them, God’s words soothe the soul.

    To anyone interested, If you want more information on how to connect with God, I have a post on it here:
