A Father’s Sacrifice

Describe a man who has positively impacted your life.

A man who stood tall,

Against the cyclone of time.

A man who stayed with his love,

Till her last breath,

And kept his promise.

The promise to be the mother,

To be the perfect father,

To their most beautiful creation,

Their kids….

Most of us believe that God has created us, but some skeptics want proof. I guess the biggest proof is always around you, they not only created you but also ensured that you grow up under their shadow to become a perfect image of them .

Yes, they are your parents, they are living Gods around you. They are the epitome of sacrifice , a perfect example that God not only takes care of you but also forgives you if you lose your way.

Exactly 13 years ago ( quite a coincidence with this prompt) my mother took her last breath. She was suffering from kidney failure. My father stayed with her till the end like a pillar.

He used to stay all night with my mother when she felt the pain after every dialysis to give her comfort and in the morning without any sleep he attended his office duties . My mother in her last days was extremely worried about me and my 2 sisters and so my father promised her to be the perfect parent to their kids.

Since then that man has ensured everything in the world for his kids. Like a mother he cooked food for his kids, like a father ensured the safety of his kids and like a God stayed with his kids in their bad days.

It’s quite impossible for me to give back everything to him but I will try my best to be a perfect son. I guess you should worship your parents every day, a time also comes when that baton is passed on to you to become an image of them.

An element of that light is there in all of us and it’s up to us how soon we recognise or realise about that .

The Goodness you leave behind

Tell us one thing you hope people say about you.

We hardly know what people say behind us. They may act good on your face but it is not necessary that they talk about good things behind you. So , it can be said, that most of us are extremely curious to know what people talk about when we are not around them.

We cannot please everyone, we may show kindness to everyone but we might not get in return. Though it is in our hands what we do to others. Well, it is quiet in our human nature to react as per our surroundings. If someone hates us, we hate them back and very few of us are hardly able to react in a kinder way.

Anger , hate, enmity all come to us so easily but it never gives anything good to the world, or even to our mental peace. The world we live in is still alive or going well ( at least for the most part) because of the few good people who choose to spread kindness and love in spite of the hate they receive.

For me, you can even win over your enemies by being kind. I have seen people when they come at you with anger , if you talk with them kindly they calm down very quickly and most importantly they regret showing anger at you . I think this is the magic of goodness and kindness, it is what we call as order in the chaos around us.

We have a limited time in this world as humans, let’s make this world a better place to live in by being good to others especially to the unfortunate ones. We might not get anything good in return but we have to stay calm for those who understand  and will remember you when you are gone.

I may not stay here for long but my goodness should stay here immortally in the hearts of the people who understand me or who will one day understand me.

The Sacrifice of Stars

There is no meaning of cosmos if there is no life.

In the beginning there was only darkness in the universe and then the first generation of stars were born. They died creating first seeds of life, the elements that created us.

Our Star, Sun belongs to the later generation of stars. It made us , it created an Eden for us in the form of Earth so that we can thrive but look what we are doing now.

We don’t own this world and our greed for power has made us blind. The sacrifice of our Gods (stars) mean nothing to us and gratefulness has lost its worth.

Are we going to create order in this universe or just become another chaos of this already chaotic universe?

Is the meaning of the cosmos, the life which it created through so much of pain, would fade away in vain just like the last blip of a star?

No, this is not the way it should be. It took thousands of years for a complex machine like us to emerge out of oblivion. There is a purpose for humans for whom this universe waited for so long.

We have to realise that purpose, a greater cause to fulfil our role in the great scheme of the universe. Humans have a responsibility, some of us would go wrong , would choose the wrong path but then it would be the responsibility of others to correct them.

We gave birth to love, we created empathy, we know the power of compassion, the ingredients of order in this world. The world needs it right now, the universe expect it from us.

Let us try then….

Lord Shiva and his Third Eye

Google image

If you see some pictures of Lord Shiva ,there is a third eye on his forehead which is mostly half closed. This third eye is highly symbolic.

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva is the God of destruction, he is also the Beginning of Creation. In fact, his ‘Tandav’ dance symbolises cosmic dance of the universe, which is the cycle of creation , preservation and Destruction.

Whenever corruption and sins go out of proportion in the universe, Lord Shiva opens his third eye to destroy them and bring balance or order in this world. There are various interpretations about it.

One such theory is that , since Lord Shiva is Yogi his third eye symbolises inner eye or spiritual eye which see the world beyond the material world.

When our two eyes become blind or get lost in the gloom and corruption of the material world then we have to try to see through our inner eye which is obviously difficult.

While our two physical eyes see the world and get lost in the illusion of past and future, our inner eye exist in the eternal ‘Now’ and helps us to know the real meaning of our existence.

This inner vision is a practice, a kind of meditation which enables us to live in the present which is devoid of any negativity of past and future. It calms us , give us peace and help us to see the physical world with a broader perspective.

Today is Mahashivratri, the great night of the lord Shiva. It is the night of unison of Shiva and Shakti (union of Universe’s Dark Matter and energy)– the embodiment of love, power, and oneness. May this occasion opens the inner eye of this already troubled world and brings happiness and peace in this world.

Division of Life

Life divided in moments,
The moments that tame us,
Through various strings ,
Tying us like a puppet.

Strings of sorrow,
Drag us towards pain.
Strings draped in desires,
Pull us towards failure.

But there’s a string of strength
From a shimmering unknown.
Pull it with your will,
And master the strings of fate !

Those Noble Thoughts

Those noble thoughts which unite us as true human beings beyond religion, are nothing less than God.

These thoughts, which seek pleasure in the joy of others, which crave strength in the strength of others, convey the true meaning of God which most of us fail to understand.

We may fight in the name of religion, nation and wealth but one thing will never forgive us for our sins , and that is Nature, our planet earth which is equivalent to God. What we do with nature it will give it back to us, it is our Karma. It will punish us for our sins.

I can only hope we understand it in time before it is too late…

The pic above is from Manali which I captured recently…

How to Comprehend God?

Something which gives you positivity, something that makes you feel good , something which cannot be explained but makes you feel empowered.

Your parents, friends ,animals , nature and everything in your surrounding have an element of that super power which gives you joy and strength. You can call that thing God or maybe something else but whatever it is it cannot be explained in words.

For me nature teaches you humility, it gives you calmness, It takes away negativity of every kind from your heart and mind. It is nothing less than God to me. Maybe I don’t believe in conventional way to worship God But if you respect nature you have to respect that as well. Maybe there is a hidden meaning behind it.

Kindness is the biggest virtue and if there is some kind of order in this world then it is only because of qualities like that. Your ego should never conflict with kindness and no matter what the situation is ,you should always try to be humble otherwise you might regret later.

To be more precise ,you should follow the path of your Good karma which is your biggest worship , it will never fail you and it will always come back at you in some or the other way in some positive form.

How difficult is Comeback?

Not very long ago I wrote about the nightmare of 2020 which shattered many hearts all over the world and how that grief came to an end.

2021 looked bright and very little did we know it was just a beginning of a cataclysm we would soon find ourselves in the middle of.

It came back and this time it began from our home, people gasped for breath , some because of the disease and some watching their loved ones dying helplessly in front of them.

There was a chaos in the city, hospitals failed to Fulfill their purpose, bodies piled up on the shores of the river and resources ran dry even for the last rites.

Media tried their best to show that everything was in order, government was busy in elections and many people who were thrown to conduct such elections breathed their last afterwards.

Who will talk about those people who died alone, in isolation, away from the loved ones, with only shattered dreams in their eyes?

There were only letters they read only once a day in their wards-

Papa don’t worry about anything , we are fine at home. Mother is already planning of things we all will do on your birthday next month. Papa we miss you every day and we know you will comeback stronger . Have faith in your God. Get well soon !

They read those letters just to live that possibility infinite times until their mind became so numb and their body became so weak that whatever happened afterwards seemed real only to their soul.

How difficult it is for their families to recover from that grief? How difficult it is to get back to normal life?
How difficult is comeback?

It’s tough to come out of this deluge of grief but you have to try with whatever you have and whatever you can to pick your pieces one by one and hold it together.

You have to remember the dreams of those who you have lost , have faith in those dreams no matter how difficult it may seem and carry on.

Life has one thing in common, it never stops ,it always finds a way no matter how many times it perishes.

Water dries, becomes vapor , precipitates over mountains , flows like a river and becomes a mighty ocean in the end.

To Die before you Die

Death is stripping away of all that is not you. The secret of life is to “ die before you die”- and find that there is no death.
-Eckhart Tolle

What I have become, I don’t want to know anymore! I have been fed to all that I am not and I only came to know about that when I faced death.

I identified with my mind. I let it dwell on my fears which gave me sufferings and frustrations. It made me to shed tears for my past and worry for my future.

It stole my ‘now’. It overpowered me, I became its prey and it fed my life. I became my failures, my sufferings which lingered only in the past. It became my sense of self.

Who am I ? Just my failure or suffering ? No it can’t be true. I cannot be the figment of my mind, just a mere thought?

No I can’t let my smitten mind feed me. For that I have to die before I actually die.

I have to stop thinking, I have to come out of my unconscious self and cling on my heart beat which exist in the ‘now’. I have to breathe in my present and exhale my past.

This will kill my ego, my fear, my sufferings and all that is born out of my past and future.

My false self will die and my true self will emerge from the eternal now.
I am not the past and future , I am all that is happening right now !
