Another disaster in Himalayas

Today, on a bright sunny day, in the morning , we witnessed another climate change-induced disaster in the Indian Himalayas.

Another glacier burst in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district which led to massive flooding and avalanche along the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers. This not only damaged Rishiganga power project but took many lives along the river according to reports.

Previously, it happened in Kedarnath in 2013 when excessive rainfall led to melting of chorabari glacier which triggered the disaster. But that was even bigger disaster that took thousands of lives comparatively.

One disaster took place because of extreme heat and the other because of excessive rainfall. Without a doubt nature is retaliating because of our own karma, Global warming.

The biggest question in front of us is when we are going to wake up and take climate change seriously?

The Himalayan region in our country is least monitored and other issues are given more priority. But we, along with the government ,needs to know that when our environment, our planet is not secure then how can we make our economy secure. When there will be no planet to live then what will be the use of wealth, power or anything else !

The fight against climate change should be our number one priority and efforts should be made to speed up our actions.

There are 100s of lakes forming in the Himalayan region because of melting of glaciers which are shrinking at a fast rate. Many have become time bombs that can burst any moment. Sooner we take this issue seriously better it will be for our generations to come.

We have always admired beauty of nature though we exploited it for our selfish gains. We have already seen a pandemic that exposed our vulnerability and the way we are moving ahead many more vulnerabilities will be exposed.

We have two choices- either speed up our efforts towards tackling global warming right now or wait for the nature to finish us to end it’s misery.

It is completely on us to decide.

Burning Embers

Towering inferno
Encapsulated the bushes
The world became red
From the blazing fire
The bushes choked
With the suffocating smoke
Creatures charred
And animals screamed
Man, It’s all your greed
Grief of nature
Will never be silenced
So here we are
Facing the revenge
Wrath of the dead
Anger of the bushes
It’s weapon is Corona
And the man
Is running for cover

Mother nature had enough to retaliate. Recently we witnessed bushfires in Australia that killed so many animals and creatures that horrified so many of us.

It’s all because of us, Global warming is our deed that is resulting in such disasters. But mother nature is not weak, it has It’s own mechanism to teach us a lesson. We are now facing Corona Virus pandemic, wrath of nature.

I hope we all recover from this and also learn from our mistakes. This should open our eyes and change our attitude towards mother nature.

Our fight is on, stay safe people!

It’s a Chemical World

There’s a haze in the city
Even the morning isn’t pretty
You breathe in Sulphur
From the burning rubber
Your lungs fight with methane
Now your life has become a bane

Oh pretty oxygen
Where you are?
We all are searching
Another Noah’s Arc
Where can I find
That morning glow?
Where the mornings
Are refreshing
And nature refreshes soul!

Corona Virus is our Karma

You heard it right?

Corona Virus is the demon we have created. It is our own karma for all the wrongs we did against nature.

From burning of Amazon forests to bushfires in Australia, from cutting of Aarey forests in Mumbai to deforestation all over the world, nature had enough to retaliate. Corona Virus is the product of brutality committed by mankind towards wild life, one of the most essential elements of nature.

Nature has its own mechanism to rebel, corona virus is one such mechanism.

Now nobody is talking about religious conflicts or human conflicts. Entire humanity is running for cover against the wrath of nature.

Do we still have hope? Can humanity recover from this fast enough?

Once again nature can save us in spite of our apathy towards it. It is the Angel we are praying now. Our own immune system, is also a part of nature, can save us.

Is our immune system strong enough to tame this demon? Most of us will say no but we can enhance it through exercises, Yoga or any other work out. Some may not agree but something is better than nothing.

Can nature’s own gift, Ayurveda or our immunity save us from this pandemic, when all other treatments are far away, remain to be seen.
But enough is enough, we can’t survive without nature.

We have to give back nature what it deserves. Otherwise, nature saw our birth and will see us dying, too.

So it is my appeal to all readers
Save wildlife, preserve nature and of course work out daily!
